What are Korean Eyebrows?
From K-pop stars to average people, most Korean rock the straight eyebrows look. While Westerners love baddie, arched eyebrows for a sexy look, eyebrows in Korea are straight to make them look innocent and youthful. How do you get Korean eyebrows? Korean eyebrow shape has flat bottom edge, short and thick tail, and low arch point.
One of the Korean beauty standards requires a smaller, V-shaped face. Hence most Korean makeup trends are focused on making the face look smaller and younger. While Korean-style eyebrows enhance the look, they do not complement all face shapes.
People with oval and rounded faces can nail the round face Korean eyebrows look. Contrarily, arched eyebrows are better suited for a square face. No matter your face shape, it is definitely worth trying this Korean brows trend.
How to Achieve Korean Brows?
Don’t know how to draw Korean brows? This popular brow technique is easy to achieve with a few, simple steps. If you are a beginner, it may take a while, however, regular practice will make you a pro in no time. Here’s how to get Korean straight eyebrows
- Draw The Top & Bottom Outline – Defining the brows will be much easier if you comb them first. Use eyebrow powder or a pencil to draw the top outline and stop before the arch point. Draw the line lightly to ensure natural-looking brows. Next, draw a bottom outline till the end of the tail. Do not draw the outlines too long as Korean eyebrows are thick and short. Once you have drawn the top and bottom edges of the eyebrows, connect both lines using a diagonal line at the arch point.
- Fill in the Brows – Fill in the outline using a brow powder or pencil. Since Korean eyebrows are supposed to be more natural, do not draw too many lines or use too much product. Try to achieve the light/dark impact by making the head of the brow darker and the tail lighter. Do not fill all the gaps and use thin strokes to make them look more natural instead of harsh and stuffed.
- Blend it Out – If you have mistakenly used too much product resulting in unnatural brows, blending will save the day. Get a spoolie to brush the area where you have filled too many gaps or look unnatural. Brush the brows upward and try to blend the excess color and harsh lines.
- Trim or Pluck Excess Hair – If you notice long strands of hair or any hair sticking out, trim or pluck excess hair for a cleaner look. This will define the shape of the Korean-style eyebrows further.
- People with arched eyebrows must pluck excessive hair to create a horizontal or straight arc. With that said, do not make the eyebrows thinner by plucking too much.
- Finishing Touches – Brush your eyebrows using a brow gel to ensure a flawless look. With this product, the brows will look fluffier throughout the day. It also seals in the product, making the eyebrows maintain their shape for longer.
Lastly, it is optional to apply brow gel or mascara for a softer, flawless look. Make sure the gels and mascaras are of the same colors as the eyebrow products used earlier. Additionally, you can use a concealer to get the straightest brows and hide imperfections.
Once you are done, you will probably have the same eyebrows as popular K-drama actresses. If you did not get the desired shape, do not give up and keep practicing. Good luck!
