A Comprehensive Guide to the Korean No-Makeup Makeup Look
To get the perfect Korean no-makeup makeup look follow along.
Prep the Skin – The Koreans just do not wash their face and begin applying makeup. They do understand prepping the skin is super important for even application and for the makeup to last long. To prep your skin for the Korean no-makeup makeup look, you have to follow these makeup prep steps.
- Cleanse – Double cleansing is the first and most crucial step in skincare and the Korean no-makeup makeup look. Therefore, you have to start prepping your skin with the same. It would remove all the oil and water-based impurities and give it a smoother and more radiant appearance.
- Exfoliate – Exfoliating skin before attempting to achieve a Korean no-makeup makeup look is just as important as cleansing. It removes dead skin cells and makes your skin appear brighter, healthier, and youthful. There are over a hundred ways to exfoliate your skin. You can use a Korean towel(Italy) or kitchen ingredients for this purpose. However, if you do not have that at the moment, take three tablespoons of baking soda and one tablespoon of water. Mix well, apply, rub in circular strokes for at least 40 to 50 seconds, and rinse it off with lukewarm water. Do not forget to exfoliate your lips as well. Even if your lips are not overly chapped and dry, exfoliation is mandatory. It would make them smoother and even out the lip tone as well.
- Tone – To be honest, most women do not apply toner before applying makeup. If you have never applied a toner while prepping the skin for the Korean no-makeup makeup look, try it. It would shrink your pores and make your makeup look good.
- Moisturize – Exfoliation removes dead skin cells but also most of your skin’s natural oil. Therefore, now your skin and lips need a good moisturizer, no matter what your skin type is. If it’s oily, you have to use a good gel moisturizer. Whereas, for dry skin, an oil-based moisturizer is the best. It would ensure even foundation and concealer application. However, to moisturize your lips, you can simply use a vaseline.
- Sunscreen – One can not afford to skip sunscreen at all. It is needed for two purposes; to get sun protection and to have a better base for makeup. Sunscreen does not help much in making your makeup look dewy or natural. However, it does work wonders in making it last all day long.
- Prime – Once the sunscreen is settled in, you have to move on to the final and most important step. It is priming your face. The primer adds a protective layer between your face and foundation. This protects the skin and prevents breakouts. Moreover, primer also ensures an even and long-lasting makeup base. So, take a generous amount of primer and dab it onto your face. You are done!
Apply Base – For the perfect Korean no-makeup makeup look, you have to be super careful with the shade of the foundation and concealer. Both of the products must not look unnatural at all. Apply the concealer first to hide the imperfections. Once you are done hiding your flaws, apply foundation using a “foundation cushion” and powder with a fluffy brush. The foundation cushion ensures light coverage and makes your base look more dewy and natural. The fluffy brush does not let the makeup base go cakey. Get done with setting the base by applying a soft pink or peach tint or cream blusher.
Fill the Eyebrows – Korean women prefer to keep their eyebrows fluffy and childlike. To achieve fluffy childlike eyebrows, shape your eyebrows lightly with a pencil and apply a brown eyeshadow to make them a bit darker. Be super careful, there should not be harsh lines and the eyebrows should not be super dark either.
Move to the Eyes – Now, take the brown or laconic black eyeliner and move to the eyes. Draw a line making sure the tip is short. Apply the nude, pink, or brown eyeshadow on the entire eyelid. Spice things up with a little shimmer. Now, draw eyelashes with a bit darker color and put on mascara to make the eyelashes more voluminous.
Do the Lips – It’s time to touch up your lips. Korean women do not contour their lips as they prefer keeping their eyes more prominent. Begin by moisturizing your lips with any of your favorite lip balms. Apply the light shade tint to the entire lips, and a dark one only to the inner zone of the lips. Lastly, shade the border with a brighter color. Step back, and see how different this Korean no-makeup makeup look is from your regular no-makeup look.
Summary
To achieve the perfect Korean no-makeup makeup look you have to prep the skin first. Apply foundation using foundation cushion, powder, and blush with a fluffy brush. Make the brows with a pencil and a bit of brown eyeshadow. Put pink, brown, or nude eyeshadow on the eyes and mascara on the lashes to give volume. For lips, take a light and dark berry shade tint, apply the lighter color on the whole lips but the dark shade only to the inner zone.
